About the project:

Anthropologists say that a work of art only acquires the status of art when it is placed in a museum; that is to say: the nature of an object depends on the place where it is. Around the Object has revolved the imaginary of Hermès during 2017 and from the Object we conceived the presentation of its fall/winter collection. In a space reminiscent of contemporary galleries, we elevated each accessory to a new category: pieces deprived of their usual context and integrated into a montage designed to test the observer's perception.

The scenic proposal was conceived with the firm's goal in mind: to showcase its designs. To do so, we installed rows of pedestals inside a neat room; on them, the luxury items. The sobriety of the concrete blocks accentuated the sumptuousness of the bags and shoes. As a backdrop, elements associated with the brand, installed in strict order and fused against the white wall. A striking aesthetic and a play between the blatantly commercial and the poetic: repetition and singularity, invisibility and presence; the object - as much a product as a work of art - the central axis.
